nyne-elevin: a day of morning

Last year at this time I was mourning food … this year I’m mourning for the continued loss in the collective sanity of the Muslim Ummah. It isn’t easy being a Muslim these days – but then again when in history has it ever been easy being Muslim? The difficult period that we find ourselves in is not surprising given the geopolitical realities of the world over the last few years. All that aside, today I simply want to state my lack of trust and faith in national Muslim organizations in this country. I don’t particularly care for these organizations, their leaders, or their agendas. These organizations don’t speak for me as a Muslim and I have nothing to do with them. I just felt like stating that today.
