Israeli leader guilty in sex case
June 29, 2007
ISRAELI President Moshe Katsav pleaded guilty yesterday to committing sexual crimes against female employees in a plea bargain that will keep him out of jail. Under the deal, Israel’s Attorney-General Menachem Mazuz retreated from his stated intention to charge Katsav with rape but said the President, whose term expires next month, would resign and that “shame will accompany him forever”.

Ethiopian Premier Admits Errors on Somalia
Ethiopian Prime Minister Meles Zenawi said Thursday that his government “made a wrong political calculation” when it intervened in Somalia, where Ethiopian troops are bogged down in a fight against a growing insurgency.
